
Patna Women’s College organized Prarambh -5.Career Counselling on pattern of UPSC
On 13th July 2023, Placement and Career Counselling Cell, Mother Veronica Excellence &
Innovation Centre MVEIC, Patna Women’s College organized Prarambh -5 : A Lecture Series
for Student Career Development. The topic for the session was “Preparation & Counselling for
Civil Services”. The Resource Person for the lecture was Mr. Aaditya Pandey, IAS, AIR 48,
UPSC 2022. The programme started with the address by the resource person where he
emphasized on the hard and smart work rule for success. He said that the key to success is to stay
away from the habit of procrastination. He spoke about the change in the question paper pattern
of UPSC i.e. OLD VS NEW. Further, he shared his life experiences mentioning that he is an
alumni of IIT- Roorkee and worked for 18 months as Alliance Manager in ICICI Bank. After
which he started preparing for UPSC. Even after failing in two attempts he did not get
disheartened by failure, rather he tried again and achieved success by securing 48th rank in
UPSC in the third time. Thereafter, he acquainted the students with many important things
related to UPSC like subject priority & answer writing. He asked the students to not get
distracted by social media, stay consistent and stick to the principles and ethics. He mentioned
that one must focus on their efforts instead of holding others at fault. Describing the syllabus of
UPSC, he talked about prelims and CSAT exam and talked about aspects related to personality
test. At the end, he quoted “UPSC makes you humble”.

Mr. Saket Jha and Mr. Ravi, members of
civils daily were also present during the session. The entire program was organized by Mr. Alok
John, Dean, National International Collaborations and Consultancy Services, Patna Women’s
College and Cultural Coordinators Dr. Sister Celine Crasta A. C., Head, Department of History,
Ms. Samiksha Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology and Ms. Enakshi De Biswas,
Coordinator, Performing Arts, Patna Women’s College. The entire event was moderated by
