“A Green Raksha Bandhan with trees – A Rakhi making competition”

On 30th August 2023, ECO Task Force (Student Environment Club) of Patna Women’s College in
collaboration with Department of Zoology, Patna Women’s College organized a special event to
celebrate Raksha Bandhan in a unique and environment conscious way. The event was titled “A Green
Raksha Bandhan with trees – A Rakhi making competition”. This event aimed to highlight the

importance of nature conservation and the role each individual can play in protecting our environment. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 160 students who came together in groups and made eco-friendly Rakhis. The students showcased their creativity by crafting a total of 62 Rakhis. The participants not only crafted beautiful Rakhis but tied them on the trees in the college premises, which
symbolized their pledge to safeguard the trees. The eventserved as a platform to spread a vital message– the urgent need to protect and conserve our trees. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College. Dr. Shobha Srivastava, Head, Department of
Zoology, Dr. Sister M. Stuti A.C., Dr. Sumeet Ranjan, Dr. Sapna, Mr.Rajeev, Dr. Neetu, Ms.
Ashiwariya Shree, Ms. Sidra Perween and Ms. Ankita were also present during the entire event. Their
collective support was with the college’s commitment to holistic education and sustainable practices.
