Christmas Milan was organised by the Alumni Association of Patna Women’s College for the Transgender Friends and the Rickshaw Pullers

Christmas Milan was organised by the Alumni Association of Patna Women’s
College on 22nd December, 2022 for the Transgender Friends and the Rickshaw
Pullers. The Principal, Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Vice principal Dr. Sister M.
Tanisha A.C. and Vice chairperson of the Alumni Association Dr. Ameeta
Jaiswal, governing body members, Sushmita Chakraborty and Dr. Kumkum
Rani were present.
Ms. Manisha Prasad, Head Department of Computer Science, welcomed the
transgender friends. Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s
College, and Chairperson, PWCAA addressed the audience and highlighted
upon the legacy of celebrating Christmas Milan every year that the college
abides by.

The Student Sisters of the college sang Christmas carol for everyone.
Thereafter, Dr. Manjula Sushila, Head, Department of Hindi, conducted games
which was followed up by a Christmas carol sung by the students of college.
Reshma, President of the Transgender Community addressed the crowd and
thanked the college for the welcome and for organizing this annual event for
them. The Transgender friends also presented a dance in which they portrayed
the struggle that was faced by Jesus and how it helps them to remember that
Jesus has gone through the same struggles as well, and He understands. The
guests were gifted with food packets and gifts.

The first session was moderated
by Dr. Sushmita Chakraborty, Head, Department of Master of Computer
Science and Ms. Manisha Prasad, Head Department of Computer Science.
Around 150 Transgender friends were present in the programme.
The next session of the programme was for the Rikshaw Pullers. Dr. Aprajita
Krishna, Dean Science and Head, Department of Physics, thanked the Rikshaw
Pullers for providing their service to community. The Rickshaw pullers
showcased their talents by dancing, mimicking, and singing. They were also
given gifts and food packets. Games were also organized for the Rikshaw
Pullers in which they took active participation. Around 150 Rickshaw- Pullers
attended the programme.
