Five Day Faculty Development Programme on Innovations in Teaching Pedagogy and Research Trends

3rd to 7th July, 2023

The Five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Innovations in Teaching Pedagogy and
Research Trends commenced on 3rd July, 2023 at Carmel Hall of Patna Women’s College. The FDP is
being jointly organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Patna Women’s College
(Autonomous) and St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, Patna in collaboration with
Xavier Board of Higher Education in India, Bengaluru.
The Programme started with a prayer and lighting of lamp. The dignitaries in the inaugural session were
Dr. Father L. Joji Reddy S.J., President, Xavier Board, Rev. Father Gilbert Mascarenhas SAC, Vice
President, Xavier Board, Dr. Sister Teresa CSST, Secretary General, Xavier Board, Dr. Sister M. Rashmi
A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College, Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Superior Avila Convent and Vice
Principal, Patna Women’s College, Dr. Father Martin Poras, Principal, St. Xavier’s College of
Management and Technology, Patna.
Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College in her opening address spoke about the
proud history of the Institution and highlighted the importance of FDPs on relevant issues for
reenergizing the faculty members at the onset of new academic session. The FDP for teachers is to
rejuvenate and train the trainers whose hallmark must be nothing but excellence and development of their
Institutions.


The keynote address of the FDP was presented by Dr. Father L. Joji Reddy S.J., President, Xavier Board,
in his thought-provoking address, Father threw light on the vital role of teachers in shaping the future of
young generation. He said that performances are always better than promises. For progressive
performances, a teacher during the recent times has to develop and adopt the techniques of IT revolution,
artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning etc.

In the plenary session of the FDP, Dr. Sister Teresa CSST, delivered a special lecture on the topic
“Empowering minds, enriching futures: Embracing NEP 2020 in higher education ecosystem. She
presented in detail the guidelines, features, clarifications, and regulatory mechanism of NEP 2020.
The entire programme is being conducted under the supervision of Dr. Amrita Chowdhury, IQAC
Coordinator and Mr. Alok John, Dean, National, International Collaborations and Consultancy Services,
Patna Women’s College (Autonomous).
