
Founder’s Day was celebrated at Patna Women’s College.

On 19th August 2023, Founder’s Day was celebrated at Patna Women’s College. The Programme
commenced with the lighting of the lamp and Paying Homage to the Founder, Bishop B. J. Sullivan, S. J.
by Right Reverend Sebastian Kallupura, Archbishop, Patna Archdiocese. Then, Saplings were presented
to the Eminent Guest as a token of gratitude .The programme was followed by a Prayer Dance and
welcoming the guest through a Welcome Song. Dr. Sister. M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s
College greeted the audience and highlighted the contribution of Bishop B.J Sullivan S.J to the institution,
the founder of Patna Women’s College. She welcomed Right Reverend Sebastian Kallupura, Archbishop,
Patna Archdiocese; Dr. Sister Reema A.C., Provincial Superior, Apostolic Carmel, Northern Province,
Dr. Sister Nessa A.C., Councilor for formation, Apostolic Carmel Congregation; Sister Lily D’Souza
A.C., Councilor for Education, Apostolic Carmel ; Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Superior Avila Convent
and Vice-Principal, Patna Women’s College; Sister M. Liseria A.C., Former Principal, Patna Women’s
College; Sister M. Serena A.C., Councilor for Spirituality and Formation, Apostolic Carmel, Northern
Province and Sister M. Mridula A.C., Councilor for Social Work, Apostolic Carmel, Northern Province.
Thereafter, Folk Dance was presented portraying the “Essence of Savan”. The Programme further
witnessed a Thematic Dance whose main theme was the G-20 Summit and portrayal of the concept of
unity in Diversity in India. Right Reverend Sebastian Kallupura, Archbishop, Patna Archdiocese wished
everyone on the occasion of Founder’s Day and said that The youth are the vision of light of the country
and the youth could make a positive change in the country.” He also quoted lines from the Holy Book of
Christianity and threw light upon the paramount lessons and importance of Bhagwat Geeta and
emphasized that “All religion talks about living in harmony and peace”. The event was supervised by the
Cultural Co-ordinators, Dr. Sister Celine Crasta A.C., Head, Department of History, Ms. Enakshi Dey
Biswas, Coordinator, Performing Arts and Ms. Samiksha Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of
Sociology .Vartika and Shrishti, Patna Women’s College were the moderators of the Programme. The
vote of thanks was delivered by Anjali Rajshree, Jt. General Secretary, Student Council 2023-24.
