On 05 th December, 2022, Alumni Association of Patna Women’s College
organized a motivational talk by its illustrious alumna Ms. Manjari Jaruhar, IPS,
Rtd. Spl. DG, CISF and author of Amazon best seller book ‘Madam Sir.’
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Ameeta Jaiswal,
President, Alumni Association.
Ms. Manjari Jaruhar was then felicitated with a shawl and a sapling by the
Principal Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Patna Women’s College. Ms. Manjari
Jaruhar was the student of English honour from Patna Women’s College in
the Batch 1968-1971.
Ms. Manjari Jaruhar shared her experience of her college days and when Dr.
Sister M. Liceria A.C., was the principal and how she received constant
encouragement from her. She inspired the students to refuse to be faltered by
difficulties to have self-belief and to find the path for themselves and to be
passionate about their career.
She insisted on being feminine regardless of the job undertaken by them. She
quoted from her life “How inspite being an IPS officer she never compromised
on her femininity.” She encouraged the girls to take up a career to become
empowered and even in police services she talked about various options like
joining the CISF, Paramilitary forces, Sashastra Seema Bal etc. She also praised
Bihar for having the highest number of women police office in the country.
Dr. Sister M. Liceria A.C., Former Principal, Patna Women’s College was also
present along with Dr. Sahar Rehman, Head, Department of English, Dr. Devina
Krishna, and teachers from the Department of English as well as other
departments were present.
The session ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shahla Rehana, Associate
Professor, Department of English. The workshop was attended by nearly 150
students.
