Patna Women’s College celebrated Shravani Mahotsav

Patna Women’s College celebrated Shravani Mahotsav on 3rd August, 2023 in the Open-Air Stage Hall Patna Women’s College celebrated Shravani Mahotsav. A
total of 11 groups from various departments participated in the Shravani Dance Competition where they
exhibited the essence of Saavan with their impactful and enthralling dance performance. The esteemed guests
for the day were Sister M. Aradhana A.C., General Secretary, Apostolic Carmel Congregation, Bangalore &
Former Principal, Carmel College, Nuvem, Goa and Sister Pavita A.C., General Bursar, Apostolic Carmel
Congregation, Bangalore. This year, the competition was aimed towards paying tribute to the farmers who
work day and night to feed the people of the nation .The participants performed their dance routines on songs

like “Khetwa Mein Sohe Kissan ho”, “ Aare Badra, Kaare Badra”& “Saavan Laagyo” etc. Dr. Manjula
Sushila, Head, Department of Hindi; Ms. Amrita Prakash, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer
Application (BCA), and Ms. Taniya Banerjee, Assistant Professor, Departmet of Political Science were the
respectable jury members of the competition. Dr. Manjula Sushila, Head, Department of Hindi then,
addressed the participants and gave her feedback about the performances. She mentioned the distinctive
criteria under which the groups were judged which included the number of members in the group, Costume,

Choice of music and Choreography . “A Winner is the one who has the courage to participate”, were the
words delivered by Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Vice Principal, Patna Women’s College which encouraged
and motivated the students. Soon after the address, Sister Tanisha declared the results. The first position was
bagged by Code 8 (History), Code 6 (Commerce) & Code 9 (Mixed) bagged the second position and Code 5

(Business Administration) won the third prize. The programme was well coordinated by the Cultural
Coordinators Dr. Sister Celine Crasta A.C, Head, Department of History; Ms. Enakshi Dey Biswas,
Coordinator, Performing Arts and Ms. Samiksha Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology. The
programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Divisha Kumari Singh, Jt. General Secretary,
Student Council 2023-24, Patna Women’s College. The programme was compered by Amrita Gupta and
Maryam Fatima, Patna Women’s College. The entire event took place under the guidance of Dr. Sister M.
Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College.
