“A Wedding Like No Other – Wedding Rituals, Body Donation, and ‘A Tree in the Daughter’s Name’”

At a park in Patliputra Colony, in the presence of members from both the bride’s and groom’s families, a truly unique and inspiring wedding ceremony took place.

On the auspicious occasion of their daughter Ms. Isha’s wedding, Prof. Shridhar Kumar of BIT Mesra, along with his wife Preetilata Kumari and mother Ramawati Sahay, set an extraordinary example by taking a pledge for body donation and the initiative “A Tree in the Daughter’s Name.”

In the presence of the President of Dadhichi Body Donation Committee and former Governor, Shri Ganga Prasad; General Secretary Padma Shri Bimal Jain; and Digha MLA Shri Sanjeev Chaurasia, the pledge-takers were honored by the committee with ceremonial shawls and certificates of commitment for eye donation/organ donation. This decision stands as a historic step in service of suffering humanity.

The pledge-takers were further felicitated with shawls by Bihar’s Hon’ble Minister Shri Shravan Kumar, former Legislative Council Member Prof. Smt. Kiran Ghai, Padma Shri Dr. Gopal Prasad Sinha, and Shri Akhauri Maheshwar Prasad, President of the Human Rights Association, in appreciation of this noble act.

Under the “A Tree in the Daughter’s Name” campaign, the family also presented saplings to all the dignitaries present on the stage. Additionally, tree plantation was carried out at their residence by the Hon’ble Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Dr. Prem Kumar.

On this historic occasion, the committee’s General Secretary, Padma Shri Bimal Jain, appealed to all present to come forward and pledge for eye donation and organ donation in service of suffering humanity.
