Former IPS Officer Shivdeep Lande Announces Journey for Youth Awareness in Bihar
Patna, February 28, 2025: Former IPS officer Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande held a press conference in Patna on Friday along with his wife, Dr. Mamta, where he discussed his decision to resign from police service and the reasons behind it.
During the press briefing, Lande expressed his inner turmoil and the sense of responsibility he felt towards his homeland. He stated, “There is always a debt to one’s land—one is the debt of the place of birth, and the other is the debt of the land where you serve. My parents gave me the name Shivdeep, but Bihar gave me an identity. I often wondered how I could repay my duty-bound debt to Bihar. I kept questioning what Bihar’s future would look like in the next ten years. Listening to my inner voice, I decided to resign from my IPS service.”

Lande further revealed that before making this significant decision, he consulted his wife, Dr. Mamta, and upon receiving her approval and unwavering support, he moved forward with his plan. However, he clarified that he has no immediate intention of entering Bihar’s political landscape. Instead, his primary goal is to raise awareness among the youth of Bihar and inspire them toward positive change.
He highlighted Bihar’s glorious past, saying, “Bihar was once a global leader. This is the land of Aryabhatta, Chanakya, Chandragupta, and Jayaprakash Narayan. Unfortunately, today’s youth are unable to recognize their true potential. I aim to travel across Bihar’s districts and awaken the youth to their capabilities.”
To fulfill his mission, Lande announced the commencement of his journey, which will begin on March 4 from Munger. He urged the people of Bihar to join him in his endeavor to transform the state’s direction and progress. “Those who wish to change Bihar’s fate and contribute to its advancement should come forward and join me,” he appealed.
Lande emphasized that his initiative is purely based on selfless service, and his sole purpose is to contribute to Bihar’s development. His journey will focus on engaging with the youth, discussing their aspirations, and motivating them to work towards the betterment of the state.
With his decision to step away from his police career and commit himself to the upliftment of Bihar, Shivdeep Lande has sparked conversations across the state. Many are eager to see the impact of his journey and how it will shape the future of Bihar’s youth and its developmental path. His initiative has already gained attention and is expected to inspire young minds to take an active role in shaping their state’s future.
