Nitish Kumar paid floral tributes to Padma Bhushan awardee Sharda Sinha

Patna: The passing of Padma Bhushan awardee and renowned folk singer Sharda Sinha has cast a wave of sorrow over the music world. Her mortal remains were flown to Patna, draped in the tricolor, before being brought to her Patliputra residence via the “Mukti Rath” for public viewing.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha paid floral tributes, joined by BJP leaders and Sinha’s admirers. Tomorrow, as per family wishes, her last rites will be held at Gulbi Ghat, where her late husband was also cremated. Her son, Anshuman, noted the poignant timing of her passing during Chhath Puja, the festival she deeply enriched with her music.
