Protest Outside BPSC Office in Patna , Police Resort to Lathicharge

Patna: On Wednesday, police resorted to lathicharge to disperse candidates protesting outside the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) office. The demonstrators were demanding the cancellation of the 70th Preliminary Test (PT) exam due to alleged irregularities and controversial questions in the examination.

The candidates, who have been protesting for the past eight days at Gardanibagh in Patna, escalated their agitation on Wednesday by organizing a protest march to the BPSC office. Their primary demand was the annulment of the 70th PT examination, citing concerns over unfair practices and discrepancies in the question paper.

Reasons for the Protest

The 70th PT examination, conducted recently by BPSC, has come under scrutiny after candidates raised concerns over alleged irregularities in the exam process. Many aspirants have claimed that certain questions in the paper were ambiguous or incorrect, which they believe could lead to an unfair evaluation. This dissatisfaction among the candidates prompted them to demand the cancellation of the exam and the announcement of a re-exam.

The Protest at BPSC Office

The protest, which began peacefully, took a turn when a large number of candidates gathered outside the BPSC office. The situation quickly became tense as the demonstrators intensified their slogans and attempted to move closer to the office premises. The heavy presence of police officers in the area failed to deter the protesters, and their numbers continued to grow.

Police Lathicharge

BPSC has yet to issue an official statement addressing the candidates’ concerns or the events that unfolded during the protest. Meanwhile, law enforcement officials defended their actions, stating that the lathicharge was necessary to maintain public order and prevent further disruption in the area.

The incident has sparked outrage among job aspirants across the state, with many condemning the police action and calling for a fair resolution to their grievances.
