Patna, January 18, 2025: A one-day workshop on apprenticeship training was conducted at Patna Women’s College,
organized by the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Bihar, in collaboration with the Bihar State Higher Education Council. The event aimed to prepare final-year students for enrollment in the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) by June 2025.Shri Baidyanath Yadav, Secretary, Education, highlighted the pivotal role of students in shaping the workforce of the future. Prof. (Dr.) Rekha Kumari underscored the importance of integrating internships into academic programs, emphasizing their potential to bridge the gap between education and employment.The keynote address was delivered by Shri S.M. Ejaz Ahmed, Director of the Board of Practical Training, Eastern Region, who outlined the apprenticeship process and its benefits. He also noted that the Government of India provides a minimum stipend of ₹9,000 for general degree graduates under the NATS, making it a lucrative opportunity for students.
The workshop featured group discussions with Apprenticeship Training and Placement Officers (ATPOs) from various colleges. Together, they finalized schedules for Career Guidance Programs aimed at enhancing students’ employability and skill development.
This initiative marks a significant step toward equipping Bihar’s youth with the skills needed to excel in the modern workforce
