The Bihar Police has announced detailed joining instructions for the 1275 candidates recommended for the post of Sub-Inspector. The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) conveyed these recommendations on July 9, 2024. This batch includes 822 men, 450 women, and notably, for the first time, 3 transgender candidates from Patna, Samastipur, and Sitamarhi.
Historic Inclusion of Transgender Candidates
This marks a significant milestone for Bihar Police as it includes transgender candidates in its ranks for the first time, reflecting a progressive step towards inclusivity and diversity within the force.
Verification and Appointment Schedule
The folders of the selected/recommended candidates have been sent to their respective regional police offices in their home districts. These candidates must complete their qualification, character verification, and medical examination between August 1, 2024, and August 10, 2024. Those deemed eligible post-verification will receive their appointment letters from the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of their respective home districts.

Special Instructions for Non-Resident Candidates
Candidates recommended from outside Bihar must report to the designated appointment authority in the Central Region, Patna. The Bihar Police ensures that appropriate appointment authorities are in place, with Deputy Inspectors General designated for offices where Inspector General level officers are posted.
Steps for the Joining Process
All recommended candidates from Bihar are instructed to report between August 1 and August 10, 2024, with their selection letters issued by the commission and all original certificates. They should report to the office of the Deputy Inspector General of Police designated as the appointment authority in their home district or the respective district’s regional police office.
