Patna: On Sunday, August 18, 2024, the third phase of the written examination for the recruitment of 21,391 constable positions in Bihar Police, under Advertisement No. 01/2023, was conducted successfully. The exam was held in a single shift from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM across 545 examination centers in all districts of the state. A total of 17,87,720 candidates were registered to appear for the exam.
Out of the total candidates, 2,97,915 were issued admit cards for today’s examination, with 2,37,247 successfully downloading their e-admit cards. According to the available data, the attendance rate was approximately 67%.
District officials and police superintendents, under their leadership, ensured comprehensive security arrangements at the examination centers. Strict entry checks and frisking were conducted to prevent any malpractice.
During the examination, biometric verification, along with photography and videography, was performed for all candidates. The Bihar Police Council monitored the examination in real-time through live streaming via CCTV, with a Command & Control Room set up in Patna for this purpose. All examination centers were equipped with jammers to prevent any unauthorized communication.
In Jehanabad district, the examination at Ramkrishna Paramhans Public School, Teacher’s Colony, Rajabazar, started late due to technical issues. Despite the delay, the confidentiality of the question papers, security arrangements, and the use of jammers, CCTV, biometric verification, photography, and videography were maintained. The candidates were given the full exam duration of two hours.
The examination was conducted peacefully and in a malpractice-free environment. However, as of now, nine candidates have been implicated in cheating cases. Three candidates have been arrested, one has been expelled, and FIRs have been filed against five others. The details of these cases are as follows:
The next phase of the examination is scheduled for August 21, 2024, with similar security arrangements in place. The Bihar Police Council remains committed to conducting a fair and transparent recruitment process.
