Patna: Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraj and key strategist of the Padayatra campaign, emphasized the necessity of a domicile policy in Bihar to tackle the state’s severe unemployment issue. Addressing a youth dialogue organized by Jan Suraj at Bapu Sabhagar, Kishor criticized the current government for favoring outsiders for jobs while neglecting the local youth, leading to widespread migration for employment.
Kishor pointed out that Bihar’s young population is compelled to migrate to other states for livelihood due to the lack of opportunities at home. He asserted that the implementation of a domicile policy would prioritize local youth in job placements, reducing the need for migration.
Kishor called on the youth to take an active role in politics, asserting that significant change has always been driven by the young generation. He encouraged the youth to participate in elections, with the promise that Jan Suraj would provide all necessary resources, eliminating the financial burden of running for office. Highlighting the importance of educational qualifications, he took a veiled jab at Tejashwi Yadav, stating that Bihar’s youth do not want to work under leaders who have failed their 10th grade.
Kishor announced that on October 2, Jan Suraj would transition from a movement to a political party with one crore founding members. He declared that the party would contest all 243 seats in the upcoming assembly elections with the aim of forming the government. This announcement was met with enthusiasm from the 20,000-strong youth audience, who had gathered from across Bihar.
The stage was graced by several notable figures including MLC Afak Ahmed, Awais Ambar, Shahnawaz Badr, Dr. Jagrit (daughter of Bharat Ratna Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur), Raj Kumar Raj, Abhishek Kumar, Vikas Kumar, Abhishek Narayan Singh, and Rishabh Kumar among others.
Kishor sharply criticized the state government for giving jobs to outsiders while Bihar’s youth remain unemployed. He urged the youth to recognize their responsibility and actively participate in the state’s political landscape. Emphasizing the need for good governance, he cited Aristotle, stating that when good people abstain from politics, fools end up ruling.
Elaborating on Jan Suraj’s ideology, Kishor explained that the campaign aims to develop Bihar by focusing on the future of its youth. The primary goal is to transform Bihar into a prosperous and developed state where every youth has access to employment, thereby preventing forced migration.
The youth dialogue aimed to provide a platform for Bihar’s youth to voice their concerns and collaboratively work towards solutions. The enthusiastic participation of the youth underscored their commitment to improving Bihar under Kishor’s leadership.
In his concluding remarks, Kishor appealed to the youth to join Jan Suraj and contribute to Bihar’s development. He expressed confidence that with collective effort, the dream of a prosperous and developed Bihar could soon be realized.
Through Jan Suraj, Prashant Kishor has ignited a new political movement in Bihar, dedicated to providing employment and development opportunities for the state’s youth.
