Patna Women’s College proudly hosted its 3rd Convocation since attaining autonomous status, celebrating academic excellence and the achievements of its graduating students. The grand Convocation Ceremony was held at 2 p.m. in the Mother Veronica Auditorium, with Mr Alok John, Dean, NICCS, serving as the event’s host.
The event was formally inaugurated by Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Patna University, who declared the Convocation Ceremony open. The proceedings began with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, graced by Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College, along with the Chief Guest, Dr. Vinita Singh Sahay, Director – IIM BodhGaya, Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Patna University and Prof. Shalini, Registrar of Patna University signifying wisdom and enlightenment.
In a gesture of respect and appreciation, Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C. presented a memento, a shawl, and a sapling to the Chief Guest, Dr. Vinita Singh Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya. Similarly, Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Vice-Principal of the College, honoured Prof Ajay Kumar Singh, the Vice-Chancellor of Patna University. Additionally, Prof. Shalini, Registrar of Patna University was felicitated by Dr Ameeta Jaiswal, Dean of Arts & Humanities during the event.
Delivering the welcome address, Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C. expressed her gratitude to the distinguished guests, faculty members, parents, and graduating students. She commended the students for reaching this pivotal stage in their academic journey, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence.
A major highlight of the event was the Gold Medal Distribution Ceremony, where the Principal and the Chief Guest conferred medals upon outstanding students from each department in recognition of their academic excellence. After the honors, a group photograph was taken of the medal recipients, along with the Principal, Chief Guest, and Deans of various departments, capturing a memorable moment of their achievements.
The Principal then invited the Honorable Chief Guest, Dr. Vinita Singh Sahay, to deliver the Convocation Address. In her speech, Dr. Sahay emphasized the importance of education, calling it the “stairway to success and progress.” She also lauded Patna Women’s College for its commitment to providing quality education to women, the future of the nation.
Subsequently, the Vice Chancellor of Patna University delivered an inspiring speech, extending his best wishes to the graduates for their future endeavors. He then administered the oath to the graduating students,officially marking their transition into the next phase of their journey.
Following the oath, a group photograph session was conducted with the graduates of each department, capturing the joy and pride of the moment.
To conclude the ceremony, Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C. delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the Honorable Chief Guests, the Principal, the Academic Council, Deans, Members of the Media, proud parents, and the graduating students for making the event a success.
Finally, the Vice Chancellor of Patna University declared the Convocation closed, and the ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
The 3rd Convocation of Patna Women’s College was a grand and momentous occasion, celebrating the spirit of academic excellence and empowerment. The event concluded on a high note, leaving the graduates inspired to embark on new professional and personal pursuits.
