Patna Women’s College hosted its annual two-day workshop on salesmanship and selling skills on February 7th and 8th, 2025. Organized by the Department of Advertising and Marketing Management, this year’s event was themed ‘Carnival’ and aptly named ‘Elysium.’ The workshop, a key part of the department’s curriculum, provided students with hands-on experience in marketing, sales strategies, and customer engagement.
The grand event took place in the college’s sports ground and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, sponsors, and guests. The workshop was inaugurated by Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal of Patna Women’s College, and Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Vice-Principal. Dr. Shazia Rahman, Head of the Department of Advertising and Marketing Management, spearheaded the event with the support of faculty members. Elysium 2025 saw an impressive turnout with 70 sponsors from various industries lending their support to the event. Some of the prominent sponsors included Diarch Group, Bajaj, Hira Panna, Senco Gold, Lakme Academy, Lenovo, Alams, Lookout Salon, Pizza Hut, La Pinoz, Sweet Home, Somen 19, and Café Hideout, among others. Their involvement provided students with invaluable exposure to real-world business operations and marketing tactics.
A major highlight of the event was the student-run stalls, where participants showcased their entrepreneurial skills by selling a variety of products. These stalls allowed students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, testing their abilities in pricing, promotion, negotiation, and customer service. The vibrant carnival-themed setup added to the lively atmosphere, making it an engaging experience for all attendees.The workshop attracted a significant audience, including students from Patna Women’s College and other educational institutions. The interactive sessions, live demonstrations, and business simulations enriched the learning experience, making it a dynamic platform for budding marketers. Faculty members closely guided the participants, ensuring that the event was both educational and entertaining.Speaking at the event, Dr. Shazia Rahman emphasized the importance of practical exposure in marketing education. “This workshop bridges the gap between theoretical learning and real-world application. It equips our students with essential skills to excel in the competitive business landscape,” she stated.
The overwhelming response and active participation from students and industry sponsors highlighted the workshop’s success.
