Patna, September 5, 2024: Mizoram’s Vanlallavmuzaula Varte, who is on a nationwide cycling tour, met with Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at the Raj Bhavan today. The cyclist began his journey on January 25, 2024, from Aizawl with the mission to raise awareness about clean air and healthy living through cycling. Having covered a remarkable distance of 14,169 kilometers, he has visited 26 states and arrived in Bihar as part of his ongoing campaign.
Governor Arlekar praised Varte’s courageous initiative, aimed at environmental conservation and sustainability. He honored Varte for his efforts, describing him as an inspiration for the youth. Varte’s journey includes stops at schools, universities, and participation in cycling rallies and press conferences across state capitals to promote the importance of cycling for clean air and a healthier lifestyle.
Earlier today, Varte also attended a formal event hosted by the Bihar State Pollution Control Board in Patna. His nationwide cycling tour is sponsored by the Mizoram State Pollution Control Board
