Patna: Purnia MP Pappu Yadav met protesting students at Gardanibagh Dharna site today, voicing his strong demand for the cancellation and re-conduct of the 70th BPSC examination. The MP expressed concerns over alleged widespread irregularities in the exam and pledged his support to the students’ movement.
Pappu Yadav stated, “There has been extensive malpractice in the BPSC exam. We demand a re-examination of the 70th BPSC. If the examination is not canceled within a couple of days, I will sit in protest with the students outside the BPSC office. I am committed to fighting this battle alone if needed.”
Highlighting the unfairness to students, Yadav insisted that canceling the exam only for Bapu Examination Center creates ambiguity. “There is confusion about whether the exam will use the old question set or a new one. Both scenarios are against the interests of students. The entire examination must be re-conducted to ensure fairness,” he asserted.
The MP further demanded a thorough investigation into the paper leak incident. He alleged the involvement of the government, administration, and coaching mafias in the scam, which has reportedly affected over four lakh candidates. Pappu Yadav raised the issue in the Lok Sabha, emphasizing that the concerns of the youth, especially related to employment, often go unheard in both Parliament and state assemblies.
“Those responsible for the paper leak must be brought to justice. There should be a comprehensive probe into the assets of all BPSC officials. I question how an individual like BPSC Chairman Parmar Ravi Manu Bhai, who has vigilance cases and FIRs against him, was appointed to such a critical position. This decision is beyond comprehension,” Yadav said.
He criticized the state administration for its failure to ensure transparency in the recruitment process and urged the government to act swiftly. Yadav vowed to stand with the students until their demands are met.
The 70th BPSC examination has drawn widespread controversy, with allegations of paper leaks and favoritism tainting the process. Students have been protesting against the irregularities, calling for justice and a re-examination to safeguard the sanctity of the competitive process.
As the agitation continues to gain momentum, Yadav’s unequivocal support has added weight to the students’ demands, putting pressure on the authorities to address the growing unrest.
