Patna, April 3: The Departments of English, Hindi, Sanskrit, and Urdu at Patna Women’s College, in collaboration with the Lit Wit Literary Society, successfully hosted ‘Resonance: Words Beyond Borders,’ a grand Language and Literature Festival. The event, held at BJ Sullivan Hall, commenced at 10:00 AM and brought together students and literary enthusiasts to celebrate linguistic and cultural diversity.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Mr. Vivek Kumar Singh, I.A.S. (Retd.), Chairman of the Bihar Real Estate Regulatory Authority, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Arun Kamal, former Head of the Department of English at Patna University, as the Guest of Honour. The program began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome song. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Vivek Kumar Singh shared insightful and encouraging remarks, inspiring the students with his words.
The festival featured a diverse range of events, including melodious multilingual song performances, a captivating Korean dance presentation, and the inauguration of ‘Bhasha Voyage,’ an exhibition where students showcased models depicting cultural interactions and exchanges.
One of the festival’s highlights was ‘Mehfil,’ the Poetry Recitation event, which saw 19 participants enthralling the audience with their verses in multiple languages. Additionally, the results of ‘Chitralekha,’ the Poster Painting Competition, were announced by the judges. The Extempore Competition, where students spoke on spontaneously assigned topics, demonstrated their eloquence and confidence.
Adding to the festival’s appeal, ‘Chalchitra,’ a screening of regional films, emphasized the significance of regional languages through artistic expression and visual storytelling.
The event served as a vibrant platform for celebrating linguistic and literary diversity, leaving a lasting impression on attendees. The festival concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Devina Krishna, Assistant Professor, Department of English.
