EVENT 1
Patna Women’s College marked National Science Day with VIGYAN UTSAV 2024, hosting an
engaging ad-making competition centered on the theme “HARMONIZING WITH NATURE:
sustainable living through organic products,” orchestrated by the Department of Statistics. The
competition attracted participation from twenty-three groups spanning different departments of PWC and other Patna-based colleges.


Distinguished judges, including Dr. Pallawi Ambreesh Kumar, Dr. Shazia Rehman, and Ms.
Shweta Shah from various departments of Patna Women’s College, evaluated the entries. Miss
Moon, Head of the Department of Statistics, inaugurated the event, setting the tone for a day of
creative exploration. The competition served as a platform for lively exchanges of ideas,
fostering a collaborative spirit among participants and providing valuable insights into
sustainable living practices.


EVENT 2
On 29th February, 2024, the second day of Vigyan Utsav 2024, a PowerPoint Presentation
Competition was jointly organized by Department of Zoology and Microbiology, Patna
Women’s College, Autonomous from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 pm in Room no. -309 (Science Block).
The theme of the competition was “Science for a Sustainable Future”. A total of 29 groups
presented their innovative ideas in the form of a presentation. The participating colleges were
Magadh Mahila College, A.N. College, Maulana Azad College, L. N. Mishra Institute and Patna
Women’s College. The Judges for the event were Mr. Ajay Jha, Assistant Professor, Department
of BMC, PWC, Mr. Prashant Ravi, Assistant Professor, Department of CEMS, PWC and Ms.
Taniya Banerjee, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, PWC. The Event
Incharge was Dr. Sapna Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, PWC. The
programme was coordinated by Dr. Shobha Shrivastava, Head, Department of Zoology, PWC
and Dr. Jaya Philip, Head, Department of Microbiology, PWC.


EVENT 3
DIY Project Competition was conducted on February 29 th , under the theme “Sustainable Craft”
aimed at promoting the concept of sustainable environment by reusing the waste materials and
displaying creative skills of students. Altogether 26 groups having 71 students registered for the
competition from various prestigious institutions like Magadh Mahila College, J.D. Women’s
College and Maulana Azad College of Engineering and Patna Women’s College. These groups
showcased their creative skills by preparing diverse crafts made from old clothes, used papers,

cardboards, cold drink bottles, coconut shells etc. The panel of judges, including Dr. Purnima
Roy, Ms. Meenakshi Mishra and Ms. Geetanjali Choudhary, evaluated the creations. The entire
event was co- ordinated by Ms. Manisha Prasad.
