Patna, Bihar – The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Patna Campus, under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, successfully concluded the three-day Craft Bazaar and Spectrum 2026 on 14th March 2026 at its campus in Mithapur Farms, Patna. The event brought together artisans, designers, students, and visitors in a vibrant celebration of India’s rich craft heritage and creative talent. The concluding day of the event was graced by Hon’ble Shri Giriraj Singh Ji, Union Minister of Textiles,



Government of India, who attended as the Chief Guest and appreciated the initiative taken by NIFT Patna to promote traditional crafts and support artisans. The three-day event served as an important platform for artisans to showcase their work, interact with customers, and create new market linkages while also encouraging students to engage with India’s craft traditions through design and innovation.

The day began with the training of artisans under the Artisan Awareness Workshop, followed by several vibrant activities under Spectrum. The evening of the final day commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest, followed by a visit to the Craft Bazaar stalls where artisans from different parts of Bihar showcased a diverse range of handloom and handicraft products. The Chief Guest interacted with the artisans and appreciated the craftsmanship displayed at the event, while schoolgirls and Jeevika Didis also attended the program and enthusiastically explored the craft displays.


This was followed by a felicitation ceremony in which a potted bonsai plant and a traditional stole were presented to the Chief Guest by the Director, NIFT Patna. In his address, the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of NIFT Patna in promoting traditional crafts and empowering artisans, emphasizing the importance of preserving India’s rich craft heritage while creating new opportunities for artisans in contemporary markets. He emphasized that initiatives like the Craft Bazaar create opportunities for artisans to reach wider audiences while also encouraging young designers to understand and incorporate traditional crafts into modern fashion and lifestyle products. Addressing the gathering, Col. Rahul Sharma, Director, NIFT Patna,



highlighted the institute’s commitment to preserving India’s rich craft traditions and connecting them with contemporary design education.
The evening continued with a series of student-led cultural and fashion activities under the banner of Spectrum 2026. The program featured the Spectrum Fashion Walk, showcasing innovative fashion creations by NIFT students inspired by traditional crafts and contemporary design ideas. This was followed by the much-awaited Mr. & Ms. Spectrum competition, which highlighted the confidence, creativity, and talent of students.



The event concluded with the Awards Distribution Ceremony, where trophies were presented to the winners of various competitions, followed by a formal Vote of Thanks.

The successful conclusion of Craft Bazaar and Spectrum 2026 reflected NIFT Patna’s ongoing efforts to promote craft-based entrepreneurship, empower artisans, and create meaningful engagement between traditional craftsmanship and the future generation of designers.
