“WE” PWC Gender Cell, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) proudly celebrated
International Women’s Day with the vibrant festivities of “Ojaswini-2024,” featuring two day
plethora of Inter-College events and competitions on March 7th and 9th, 2024.
The second day of the celebration included two Inter-College competitions: Rang Tarang, a
Rangoli Making Competition, and Nayi Disha, a Thematic Dance Competition.
Nine esteemed colleges and Patna Women’s College itself also participated in both the
competitions. The respected jury members for Rang Tarang – Rangoli Making Competition
were Ms. Archana Shephali Kongari, Assistant Professor, Department of Fashion
Management Studies, NIFT; Mrs. Geetanjali Choudhary, Assistant Professor, Department of
Fashion Designing, Patna Women’s College and Ms. Amrita Prakash, Assistant Professor,
Department of Computer Applications (BCA), Patna Women’s College & Nayi Disha-
Thematic Dance Competition were Ms. Sudipa Bose, Head, Department of Bharatnatyam,
Bhartiya Nritya Kala Mandir, Patna; Ms. Imli Dasgupta, Dance Teacher, Tribhuvan School,
Patna and Mr. Tara Shankar Dhir, Dance Teacher, Tribhuvan School, Patna. The Rang
Tarang – Rangoli Making Competition commenced at 9 A.M. at the Patna Women’s College
campus. Participants were given 2 hours to complete their Rangoli, and judging commenced
at 11:00 A.M.
Nayi Disha, the Thematic Dance competition, took place in the Open-Air Stage Hall from
11:30 a.m. onwards, with a ceremonial lamp lighting. Each college, including Patna Women’s
College, showcased their dance performance centered around the theme “Viksit Bharat ki
Zimmedari: Sahbhagi Ho Har Nari.”
The two-day celebration concluded with the declaration of the results of both the
competitions and the vote of thanks proposed by Anjali Kumari, Jt. General Secretary of the
Student Council 2023-24. The winners of Rang Tarang were, I- Patna Women’s College; II-
College of Arts and Crafts and III- Rajkiya Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, and the winners of Nayi
Disha were, I- Patna Women’s College; II- B.S. College and III- Magadh Mahila College.
The entire event was organized under the guidance of Cultural Coordinators: Dr. Sister
Celine Crasta A.C., Head, Department of History; Ms. Enakshi Dey Biswas, Coordinator of
Performing Arts; and Ms. Puja Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce.
