Strongly criticizing Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for expressing apparent satisfaction over former U.S. President Donald Trump’s remark labeling the Indian economy as a “dead economy”, BJP National Secretary Rituraj Sinha stated, “Applauding a comment that calls India a ‘dead economy’ reflects Rahul Gandhi’s ‘dead mindset’, not the state of the Indian economy.”

Lashing out, Sinha said, “Rahul Gandhi seems to believe that insulting India is an achievement. When the nation is moving forward, it is not only unfortunate but also shameful to demean it on foreign platforms. This is the same mentality that has repeatedly hurt India’s pride. While India is emerging as an economic superpower globally, such statements from Rahul Gandhi clearly show that his thinking is mired in frustration and lack of direction.”

Sinha further asserted that this behavior from Rahul Gandhi is nothing new. “This isn’t the first time he has attempted to tarnish India’s image abroad. The only difference this time is that he is openly expressing joy over anti-India remarks made by a leader like Trump. Is this the same Congress that once took pride in chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’? Today, Rahul Gandhi’s politics appears to be firmly rooted in an anti-India narrative,” he said.

He emphasized that India is no longer the India of the 1990s — this is ‘New India’. “Rahul Gandhi must understand that today’s India stands tall on the global stage. Under Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership, India has emerged among the top 5 global economies. Record FDI inflows, historic infrastructure investments, and a booming startup ecosystem all demonstrate India’s self-reliance and growth. Yet Rahul Gandhi continues his immature rant about a ‘dead economy’, revealing only his desperation.”

Sinha directly challenged the Congress leadership: “Will Rahul Gandhi and his party stand with the 1.4 billion people of India against the U.S. tariff policies? Or will they continue to align with foreign powers, dishonoring India time and again?”

He concluded by stating, “The people of this country are watching closely — who is defaming India and who is proudly representing it. By calling India’s rapidly growing economy ‘dead’, leaders like Rahul Gandhi are only belittling themselves.
