Averted Tragedy in Patna: Girl Jumps from Double-Decker Bridge, Saved by Crowd’s Quick Response

Patna, Thursday: A major tragedy was narrowly averted on Ashok Rajpath in Patna after a young female student jumped from a double-decker bridge on Thursday evening, triggering panic in the area. Thanks to the presence of mind and swift action of people gathered below, the girl was rescued safely before she could hit the ground.

According to eyewitnesses, the student had been standing on the upper level of the bridge for quite some time and appeared distressed, attempting to jump. Noticing her unusual behavior, passersby and commuters began gathering on the road beneath the bridge. Several individuals tried to persuade her to step back and refrain from taking the extreme step, but she reportedly refused to listen.

Before anyone could intervene effectively, the girl suddenly leapt off the bridge. In a dramatic turn of events, people standing below reacted quickly and managed to catch her mid-air, preventing what could have been a fatal fall.

The incident caused chaos in the vicinity, with a large crowd rushing toward the spot. Traffic on the busy Ashok Rajpath was disrupted for some time, adding to the tense atmosphere. Upon receiving information, local police reached the scene promptly and brought the situation under control.

The injured student was immediately rushed to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), where she was admitted to the emergency ward. According to hospital sources, she was unconscious at the time of admission.

Officials from the Pirbahore police station stated that the identity of the student remains unknown. Efforts are underway to identify her and locate her family members. Police are also reviewing nearby CCTV footage to ascertain the sequence of events and determine the reasons behind her actions.

Authorities have confirmed that no identification documents were found with the student, making the process of identification more challenging. The case is currently under investigation from all possible angles.
