Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Dr. Prem Kumar welcomed the Chief Minister with a symbolic gift and a bouquet.

Due to the ongoing development of eco-tourism facilities and other works, the site was temporarily closed to the public. Now, with the inauguration by the Chief Minister, it has been reopened for everyone. The people are delighted with the development of Kakolat Waterfall.Among those present at the occasion were Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Dr. Prem Kumar, other public representatives, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Secretary of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department Bandana Preyashi, Chief Minister’s Special Officer Gopal Singh, Magadh Division Commissioner Mayank Barbad, Magadh Range Inspector General of Police Kshatranil Singh, Nawada District Magistrate Ashutosh Kumar Verma, Nawada Superintendent of Police Ambareesh Rahul, and other senior officials.

In 2013, during his first visit to the waterfall, the Chief Minister directed the development of several tourist facilities. Following his directives, several amenities were developed during 2013-14. In 2022, additional works to enhance tourist facilities were initiated. With the inauguration of eco-tourism facilities today, tourists will now find it more convenient to enjoy the natural beauty of Kakolat Waterfall. The waterfall has been made more accessible, safe, and attractive for tourists. The risk of falling stones during the climb was a significant concern, often deterring visitors. To address this, a stone stabilization project was undertaken, securing loose stones with iron nets. Stairs have been constructed to facilitate access to the waterfall. The lower pond has been reconstructed with steps, allowing visitors to bathe easily.A grand main entrance, six cafeterias, selfie points, administrative buildings, restrooms, ticket counters, lounges, a tourist information center, and a water tank have been developed by carving stones. Seating areas and changing rooms for men and women are available both above and below. A water treatment plant ensures purified drinking water is available throughout the site. A children’s zone with parks, swings, and seating areas has been established. Adequate parking areas, benches, and food stalls have also been constructed. This development will increase tourist footfall and provide employment opportunities for local residents.
