Patna, December 16, 2023: Today, Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar inspected the redevelopment work of Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH). During this, near the Hospital Block of PMCH, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Shri Pratyay Amrit, provided detailed information to the Chief Minister about the ongoing construction work and the master plan.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the ongoing construction work. Following this, a detailed presentation on the progress of the redevelopment project work at Patna Medical College Hospital was given to the Chief Minister in the conference hall. It was revealed that the redevelopment work of the 48-acre PMCH is progressing rapidly, and the hospital, with a capacity of 5,462 beds, is being constructed in three phases. The construction work of the first phase, comprising 2,073 beds, will be completed soon, followed by the commencement of the second and third phases.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister stated that Patna Medical College Hospital is being transformed into a world-class facility, providing patients with modern and technologically advanced medical treatment. Construction of accommodations for medical professionals and staff, as well as better hostel facilities for students, is also underway. The Chief Minister emphasized completing the construction work of the second and third phases promptly once the first phase is completed.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister inspected the Double Decker Bridge under construction on Ashok Rajpath and directed officials to expedite the construction work. Subsequently, while stopping at Patliputra Path, he instructed officials to work on establishing a direct connection between Patliputra Path and Nehru Path.
During the inspection, Chief Secretary Shri Deepak Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of Health, Road Construction, and Disaster Management Department Shri Pratyay Amrit, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Anupam Kumar, Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited Managing Director Shri Abhay Kumar Singh, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Gopal Singh, PMCH Director Dr. A.I.S. Thakur, Patna District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, and other officials, including the Superintendent of Police Shri Rajiv Mishra, were present
