CM Samrat Choudhary Reviews Key Departments, Pushes AI Governance, Aerocity Development and Strong Bihar Branding

Patna, April 18, 2026 — Samrat Choudhary on Saturday chaired a high-level review meeting of the Information and Public Relations Department, Civil Aviation Department, and Urban Development and Housing Department at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat ‘Samvad’, issuing a series of key directives aimed at accelerating Bihar’s development and strengthening its national presence.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to identify cultural heritage sites at the district level and ensure that information about them is made easily accessible to tourists in a simple and effective manner. He stressed that Bihar’s achievements must be strongly branded beyond the state to enhance its image at the national level.

Highlighting the growing role of technology, Choudhary directed officials to adopt Artificial Intelligence for real-time monitoring and improve governance efficiency. He also urged departments, especially Urban Development and Panchayati Raj, to explore innovative uses of AI in administrative functions.

Reviewing the Civil Aviation sector, officials informed the Chief Minister about ongoing efforts to strengthen air infrastructure and expand international connectivity. Plans are underway to operationalize international flight services from Patna and Gaya under a comprehensive aviation policy. Choudhary noted that the development of Aerocity projects around major airports would boost commercial, hospitality, logistics, and tourism infrastructure. He directed officials to prioritize safety and quality while preparing district-level plans for airport development.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that improved air connectivity, expansion of airports, and the launch of international flights would significantly enhance Bihar’s economic growth and tourism potential.

On urban development, officials presented a roadmap for developing 11 satellite and greenfield townships. The model includes government investment in core infrastructure such as roads and drainage, while private investors will contribute to planned urban expansion. Notably, at least 55 percent of land will be returned to landowners under the proposed framework.
