Bihar Governor Arif Mohammed Khan and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, along with several distinguished guests, performed the Aarti of the divine tableaus and extended their greetings to the devotees. The enthusiasm and devotion among the crowd were truly remarkable.
Grand Shivratri processions from various parts of the city, accompanied by traditional music and dance, showcased enthusiastic participation from women and youth. Devotees adorned with Tripund tilak on their foreheads, carrying Kalash (sacred pots), and draped in saffron scarves, raised slogans praising Mahadev.
Tableaus from Kanpur, Lucknow, Dhanbad, and Hazaribagh depicted Shiv-Parvati’s celestial wedding, ghostly processions of Mahadev’s followers, and Mahadev’s presence at the grand Kumbh Mela. The Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya presented the first tableau, which was received by the Chief Minister, who performed Aarti and greeted the devotees.
The Shivratri processions were met with floral showers and Prasad distribution at various locations along their route. The arrival of tableaus began at 5 PM and continued till late at night. National General Secretary of Sahakar Bharati, Deepak Chaurasia, along with other officials, extended a warm welcome to all the processions.
The grand Shivratri in India celebration was livestreamed on social media, and six LED screens were installed at the venue for devotees’ convenience.
Three main stages were set up at the festival venue. The central stage hosted the Governor, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, ministers from the central and state governments, spiritual leaders, and other dignitaries. The second stage featured the sacred Ganga Aarti, where the resonating chants and ritualistic hymns left devotees deeply moved.
On the third stage, a devotional music evening was held, where artists performed songs dedicated to Lord Shiva’s glory. A powerful Tandav dance performance captivated the audience, immersing them in a deep spiritual experience. As the night progressed, the entire Bailey Road was flooded with devotees, requiring significant effort from police and administrative teams to manage the crowd.
At Khajpura Shiv Temple, devotees gathered as early as 4 AM for Jalabhishek (sacred water offering) and worship. As soon as the temple gates opened, men and women lined up in separate queues to offer their prayers. The temple remained open until 9 PM, after which preparations for Shivling decoration, Rudrabhishek, and the symbolic wedding of Shiv and Parvati continued till late at night.
The festival was graced by former Union Minister Ashwini Choubey, Nagendra Ji, Dil Mani Devi, Usha Vidyarthi, Jagannath Thakur, Arvind Sharma, and many other dignitaries. Dr. Sanjeev Chaurasia, the convener of the reception committee, welcomed the Governor, Chief Minister, and other distinguished guests with mementos.
The Mahashivratri festival in Patna was a perfect blend of unparalleled devotion, grand celebrations, and spiritual fervor. The city was drenched in Shiva’s divine energy, making it a night to remember for all devotees of Shivratri in India.
