NIFT Patna Celebrates 40th Foundation Day with Grandeur

Patna, 22 January 2025: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Patna, marked its 40th Foundation Day with a spectacular event held at its campus. The celebration witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, vibrant cultural performances, and an impressive showcase of creativity by students, making it a memorable milestone in the institute’s journey.

The event was graced by the Honorable Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, as the chief guest. Shri Singh highlighted the significant contributions of NIFT to the fashion and textile industry and motivated the students with his inspiring address. Accompanying him as the guest of honor was Ms. Richa Maheshwari, an accomplished alumna of NIFT and the CEO and founder of Richa Maheshwari Films & Photography. She shared her inspiring journey from a student at NIFT to becoming a successful entrepreneur, leaving the audience in awe.

The celebration commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and a Saraswati Vandana, invoking blessings for a successful event. Among them were Shri Anil Kumar, Chief Postmaster General of Bihar; Shri Ashok Sinha, Director of Bihar Museum; Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh, Director (In-Charge) of CIMP; Shri Kumar Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer of CIMP; Prof. (Dr.) Faizan Mustafa, Vice-Chancellor of CNLU Patna; and principals of Tribhuvan and Radiant Public Schools.NIFT Patna’s Director, Colonel Rahul Shami, warmly welcomed the guests and expressed gratitude for their support and encouragement. He emphasized the institute’s commitment to nurturing creativity and innovation in the field of fashion and design, which has been its hallmark for the past 40 years.
