Online Guest Lecture at Patna Women’s College Explores Career Opportunities in Life Sciences
Patna Women’s College’s Department of Biotechnology, in collaboration with the Placement and Career Counseling Committee, organized an online guest lecture on “Unlocking Career Opportunities in Life Sciences” on March 10, 2025. The event, held at MVEIC Hall, Science Block, aimed to enlighten students about career prospects in the field of life sciences and inspire them to explore various opportunities.
The keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Lakshmi Narayan Mishra, Principal Scientist at Revival Bio Inc., Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Dr. Mishra shared valuable insights on the future of careers in life sciences, job opportunities in both academia and industry, and lessons to be learned from common career and research mistakes. His expertise and experience provided students with a deeper understanding of the possibilities and challenges in the field.

The event commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Aarti Kumari, Head of the Department of Biotechnology, Patna Women’s College. Later, Dr. Alok John, Dean of National and International Collaboration & Consultancy Services, spoke about research development and government policies related to the field.
Dr. Alok Ranjan, Assistant Professor at Patna Women’s College, introduced the keynote speaker before the session began. Following the lecture, a Q&A session was conducted, allowing students to interact with Dr. Mishra and seek guidance on career-related queries.
The event concluded with the national anthem, leaving students and faculty members with a memorable and insightful experience. This online guest lecture reflects Patna Women’s College’s commitment to providing its students with opportunities to learn from experts and explore career prospects in the life sciences sector.
