Patna, January 18, 2025: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Bihar ahead of the state’s assembly elections, scheduled to take place in ten months. His visit included a stop at the Congress state headquarters, Sadaqat Ashram, where he addressed party workers, offering strategies and motivation to gear up for the electoral battle. This marked his return to Sadaqat Ashram after a significant gap, and the event was celebrated with grand enthusiasm by Congress leaders and workers.
State Congress President Akhilesh Prasad Singh welcomed Rahul Gandhi with a garland made of Mithila makhana, symbolizing the cultural heritage of Bihar. The warm reception highlighted the party’s excitement and commitment to the upcoming elections.
During his address, Rahul Gandhi emphasized the ongoing ideological struggle in the country, contrasting the two dominant narratives. “One ideology belongs to the RSS and BJP, which thrives on divisiveness and hatred. The other is the ideology of love and harmony, upheld by the Congress Party,” he said.
He expressed confidence in the Congress workers, referring to them as “Babbar Sher” (fearless lions), and urged them to defeat the BJP in Bihar. “Our party workers are not afraid of anyone. We will face every challenge and ensure that the BJP is defeated,” he asserted.
Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the central government, accusing it of neglecting Bihar and failing to address the state’s pressing issues. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for handing over control of the country’s resources to powerful corporations and organizations like the RSS.
“Prime Minister Modi has handed over power to Ambani, Adani, and the RSS. Every key institution in the country is now under their control. When Modi realized that people from backward and Dalit communities were beginning to claim their rightful representation, he shifted power to Ambani and Adani,” he said.
Addressing the issue of caste census, Rahul Gandhi called the caste survey conducted in Bihar a “fraud.” He emphasized the need for an authentic nationwide caste census to understand the real socio-economic situation in the country. “The caste census conducted in Bihar was fake. To understand the actual condition of the country, a genuine caste census is essential. The Congress Party will pass the caste census in Parliament and work towards ending the 50% reservation cap to ensure justice for all sections of society,” he stated.
Rahul Gandhi criticized the central government for its neglect of Bihar, highlighting major issues such as unemployment, corruption, inflation, and the prevalence of exam paper leaks. He accused the government of turning Bihar into a hub for paper leaks, which he said has deprived the state’s youth of job opportunities.
“Bihar has become a center for paper leaks, and this has severely impacted the aspirations of its young population. The central government has failed to address unemployment and corruption, forcing the people of Bihar to migrate like laborers to other states in search of work,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi also accused the central government of exploiting Bihar’s resources while failing to invest in the state’s development. He appealed to the people of Bihar to remain vigilant about these issues and to demand change.
During his speech, Rahul Gandhi outlined the Congress Party’s vision for social justice and development. He reiterated the party’s commitment to addressing inequality and providing opportunities to marginalized communities. The proposal to end the 50% reservation limit, he said, would create a more equitable system where every community has access to education, employment, and representation.
The Congress leader assured the people that the party would fight for these causes in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. “We will end the 50% reservation cap to ensure justice for all sections of society. Our fight is for fairness and equality, and we will see it through,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Sadaqat Ashram was aimed at boosting the morale of party workers and preparing them for the upcoming assembly elections. He provided key strategies and tips to ensure the Congress Party’s success. According to party insiders, Rahul Gandhi emphasized grassroots outreach, connecting with the youth, and addressing local issues to win the trust of voters.
He encouraged party workers to focus on exposing the failures of the BJP government, particularly in areas like education, employment, and governance. He also urged them to highlight the Congress Party’s vision for development, social justice, and equality.
Rahul Gandhi’s visit comes at a crucial time as Bihar gears up for its assembly elections. The Congress Party, which is part of the INDIA alliance, aims to strengthen its position in the state and play a pivotal role in shaping the government.
Political analysts see Rahul Gandhi’s emphasis on caste census, reservation reforms, and unemployment as an attempt to connect with the state’s large population of backward and marginalized communities. By addressing these issues, the Congress Party hopes to counter the BJP’s influence and appeal to voters across caste and class lines.
Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Bihar has reinvigorated the Congress Party’s campaign for the assembly elections. His focus on ideological battles, social justice, and local issues has provided a clear roadmap for the party to engage with voters and build momentum ahead of the polls.
As Bihar prepares for the assembly elections, the Congress Party, under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, aims to challenge the BJP and present a strong alternative that addresses the state’s pressing concerns. With promises of reservation reforms, a genuine caste census, and a focus on employment and development, the Congress Party seeks to position itself as a champion of the people’s interests in Bihar.
