Photography Exhibition at Patna Women’s College Highlights Women’s Contribution to Bihar

Patna Women’s College celebrated the creative talents of its students with a photography exhibition organized by the Department of Communicative English and Media Studies (CEMS) on March 1, 2025. The exhibition, themed “Marching on: Women’s Contribution to Bihar,” showcased the artistic and journalistic skills of Semester IV and VI students.

The event began with an empowering quote: “The question is not who is going to let me, the question is who is going to stop me.” This set the tone for a powerful visual narrative highlighting the achievements and contributions of women in Bihar.

The exhibition was graced by esteemed guests, including Dr. Sr. M. Rashmi A.C., Principal of Patna Women’s College, Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Vice Principal, Major IJ Sharma, Prof. Dr. Dennis Quilala, Head of the Department of Communicative English and Media Studies, and other faculty members. Their presence encouraged and motivated the students to continue using photography as a medium for storytelling and advocacy.

The displayed photographs captured real-life moments that reflected the strength, resilience, and achievements of women in Bihar. From portraits of inspiring women to images of women excelling in various fields, the exhibition provided a fresh perspective on their contributions to society.

The event was the result of months of learning, where students explored various aspects of photography, including camera settings, handling techniques, types of shots, and different photography genres. The hands-on experience gained through this exhibition allowed students to translate theoretical knowledge into practical applications.

Dr. Tauseef Hassan, Head of the Department of CEMS, coordinated the event, along with faculty members Ms. Runa, Mr. Frank Krishner, Mr. Prashant Ravi, and Mr. Amitabh Ranjan. Their guidance and mentorship played a crucial role in shaping the students’ creative vision.
