Heavy Storm Throws Patna Into Chaos, Trees Uprooted Across City

Patna — A sudden spell of fierce winds accompanied by torrential rain brought life to a standstill in the Bihar capital on Friday, causing widespread disruption across several parts of the city. The intense storm uprooted large trees, blocked major roads, and triggered severe traffic congestion during peak hours.

Several important stretches, including the road connecting Lok Bhavan and the Main Secretariat area, were badly affected after massive trees collapsed onto the streets. Broken branches and debris were scattered across multiple locations, making movement difficult for commuters and pedestrians alike.

The storm led to long traffic snarls on key routes of the city, with vehicles stranded for hours as civic authorities rushed to clear the roads. Emergency response teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were immediately deployed to different affected areas to restore normalcy.

According to SDRF personnel, strong winds and heavy rainfall caused trees to fall at numerous spots throughout Patna. Rescue and clearance operations were launched on a war footing to remove obstructions and reopen traffic movement as quickly as possible.

The sudden change in weather also created panic-like conditions in several neighborhoods, with residents struggling to navigate flooded and blocked streets. Authorities have advised citizens to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel until weather conditions stabilize.
