DGP reviews preparations for Women's Hockey Champions Trophy 2024 in Rajgir.

Patna, October 1, 2024: A meeting was held today at Bihar Police Headquarters under the chairmanship of Mr. Alok Raj, Director General of Police (DGP), Bihar, to review the arrangements for the successful organization of the upcoming Women’s Hockey Asian Champions Trophy 2024, scheduled to be held in Rajgir. The meeting discussed various agenda points, including the roles and responsibilities of the officers involved in the event.

Senior police officials present at the meeting included Mr. Jitendra Singh Gangwar, Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters), Mr. Sudhanshu Kumar, Additional Director General of Police (Traffic), Mr. M.R. Nayak, Additional Director General of Police (Special Branch), and Mr. R. Shankaran, Additional Director General of Police, Bihar State Sports Authority, Patna (also holding the additional charge as Director General of Bihar State Sports Academy, Rajgir).

It is noteworthy that the Women’s Hockey Asian Champions Trophy 2024 will be held in Rajgir, Bihar, for the first time. A total of six teams will participate, including India, China, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan. The tournament will take place from November 11 to November 20, 2024. The Indian team is expected to arrive in Bihar on November 4, where they will begin their practice in Rajgir, while the other teams are scheduled to arrive on November 8.

On October 14, 2024, the Honorable Chief Minister of Bihar will flag off the Trophy Tour. In addition to visits to various states, the Trophy Tour will cover different districts of Bihar from October 20 to November 9, 2024.

To ensure the successful organization and conclusion of the Women’s Hockey Asian Champions Trophy 2024, a High Power Committee has been formed. This committee includes the Chief Secretary of Bihar, the Director General of Police, and the Development Commissioner of Bihar.
