Patna, November 26, 2024: In a significant gesture of support for police personnel and their families, Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Raj, along with senior officials, presented a cheque of ₹20 lakh to the family of late Police Sub-Inspector Bhim Prasad of Lakhisarai district. This financial aid marks the first instance under the partnership agreement between the Bihar Police and Bank of Baroda (BoB).The ceremony took place in the presence of Jitendra Singh Gangwar, Director General (Headquarters), other senior police officers, and representatives from Bank of Baroda. The financial assistance was provided as part of a special arrangement aimed at offering immediate relief to the families of deceased police personnel.Sub-Inspector Bhim Prasad tragically passed away on October 20, 2024, after battling blood cancer. His untimely demise left his family in deep sorrow. Recognizing the sacrifices made by police officers, the Bihar Police, in collaboration with Bank of Baroda, initiated this program to extend timely financial support to the dependents of personnel who lose their lives while in service.
Speaking on the occasion, DGP Alok Raj emphasized the department’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families. “We stand with the families of our brave officers who dedicate their lives to public service. This initiative ensures they are not left without support in times of need,” he stated.This initiative is part of a broader effort to boost morale within the police force and provide a safety net for their families, ensuring their financial stability and dignity in the face of unforeseen tragedies.
