Republic Day Celebrations to be Organized with Full Dignity and Splendor: Commissioner

The Commissioner of Patna Division, Mr. Mayank Varvade, inspected the final parade rehearsal at Gandhi Maidan, Patna, today. Before the inspection, he paid tribute at the Shaheed-e-Kargil Memorial.
Accompanying him were District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Avkash Kumar, Deputy Development Commissioner Mr. Sameer Saurabh, City Superintendent of Police (Central) Ms. Sweety Sehrawat, Sub-Divisional Officer (Patna Sadar) Mr. Gaurav Kumar, and other officials.
The Commissioner assured that the 76th Republic Day celebrations would be conducted with full dignity and grandeur. The main state function will take place at the historic Gandhi Maidan. Preparations are being made in accordance with standard protocols. The entire venue has been divided into four sectors, with additional sub-sectors as required. Senior officials, including Additional District Magistrates and Deputy Superintendents of Police, are overseeing preparations in each sector. Security forces, including female personnel, baton units, and other police teams, will remain on high alert. Officials and personnel deployed to the venue will report on time and remain stationed until the crowd disperses. Sector officers will ensure compliance with these directives.
The Commissioner emphasized three key aspects for the event’s success: security arrangements, audience management, and courtesy towards VIPs and VVIPs in line with protocol. He stressed that no compromises would be made on security. All designated officials must prioritize the convenience of spectators while maintaining utmost respect for dignitaries.
The entire venue will be monitored via CCTV cameras. Patna Smart City Limited has installed 128 cameras, including fixed bullet, PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom), and analytic cameras. Of these, 61 are fixed cameras, 22 are PTZ cameras, and 45 are analytic cameras. Surveillance will cover every corner of Gandhi Maidan, with 49 cameras around the perimeter and 79 within the grounds. Activities will be monitored from the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC).
Gandhi Maidan and its surrounding areas will feature excellent lighting arrangements, including 34 high-mast towers with 136 LED metal lights, 229 pole lights, and 20 high-mast lights. Additional decorative and pathway lights have also been installed.
The Commissioner directed officials to ensure robust medical services. The Civil Surgeon will coordinate with AIIMS, PMCH, NMCH, IGIMS, Gardiner Road Hospital, and others to ensure emergency care is available.
The Traffic Superintendent has prepared a comprehensive traffic plan, which will be published in newspapers to guide citizens towards alternate routes during the event. Parking arrangements at Gandhi Maidan will be overseen by the Traffic Superintendent and District Transport Officer.
Fifteen departments of the Bihar Government will present tableaux at Gandhi Maidan, highlighting developmental initiatives, welfare schemes, social reform campaigns, and women empowerment programs. Nodal officers have been appointed for each department. Anti-sabotage checks will be conducted before allowing the tableaux to enter the venue.
Vehicles and equipment entering Gandhi Maidan will undergo thorough technical inspections led by the Special Branch of the Patna Police. Delays in inspection will result in denied entry.The Commissioner concluded by urging all officials to remain vigilant, proactive, and dedicated to ensuring the event’s success.
