Patna: Former IPS officer and Chairman of Mahavir Mandir Trust, Kishore Kunal, passed away in Patna following a cardiac arrest. He was rushed to Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital in the early hours after suffering the arrest, where doctors pronounced him dead. Career in Indian Police Service

Kishore Kunal joined the Indian Police Service (IPS) in 1972, representing the Gujarat cadre. His exceptional service and integrity marked his rise within the police force. He was appointed Superintendent of Police and later became the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Ahmedabad in 1978.

In 1983, Kunal was promoted and transferred to Bihar as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Patna. From 1990 to 1994, Kunal served as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Ministry of Home Affairs, where he was entrusted with sensitive assignments.
