The Gandhi Maidan in Patna witnessed a massive gathering of supporters and workers of the Mahagathbandhan. Representatives from all parties converged at Gandhi Maidan, holding their party flags high and donning caps on their heads. A large procession of RJD workers made its way to the rally ground.
Lalu Prasad Yadav emphasized that his party stands for the Dalits, the poor, and the extremely backward. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his unfulfilled promises of employment and jobs. He urged the audience to pay attention to the words of leaders like Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, and Yechury. “Together, we will show them the door. All members of the united front will bid farewell to the Modi government from here. Now, all of you, prepare for the elections,” he declared.
Congress’s National President, Mallikarjun Kharge, launched a scathing attack on PM Modi, accusing him of deceit. Kharge alleged that Modi favored a handful of billionaires while neglecting the interests of farmers and the marginalized sections. He criticized the government’s handling of the economy and accused Modi of being a master of lies.
Rahul Gandhi addressed the crowd, questioning the rising hatred in the country. He attributed it to injustice against the youth, farmers, and the poor. He accused Modi of working only for a few billionaires, forgiving their debts while ignoring the plight of farmers. Rahul Gandhi also raised concerns about the country’s relations with Pakistan and China.
Tejashwi Yadav mocked the BJP, accusing them of peddling lies. He expressed pride in his father’s resilience against opposition tactics. Tejashwi Yadav asserted that they wouldn’t succumb to the threats of the ED and the CBI. He declared, “We won’t be intimidated.”
Tejashwi Yadav highlighted the massive turnout at Gandhi Maidan, estimating nearly ten lakh people in attendance. He thanked everyone for showing up despite the administration’s attempts to disrupt the rally. He reminisced about the time when millions of jobs were distributed at Gandhi Maidan. Tejashwi Yadav took pride in fulfilling his promise of providing five lakh jobs within seventeen months of assuming office.
On the other hand, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury, and many other prominent leaders joined the rally later.
The rally at Gandhi Maidan symbolized the united opposition’s resolve to challenge the ruling government in the upcoming elections. The leaders addressed various issues, ranging from unemployment to social justice, aiming to garner support from the masses. As the election season approaches, the political landscape in Bihar seems charged with anticipation and fervor.
