Patna Women’s College celebrates Annual Day,Governor highlighted its 83-years significant journey

A grand function marked the Annual Day at Veronica Auditorium in Patna Women’s College on Saturday. Hon’ble Governor of Bihar, Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Honorable Governor Mr. Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar mentioned on this occasion that today, daughters are leading in various fields where they never even thought of going before. The Governor said that we should draw inspiration from Bihar’s rich history and traditions to shape the present. He urged the students of the college to actively participate in achieving the goal of making India a developed country by the year 2047. Commending Patna Women’s College, he highlighted its significant contributions to the country’s development over its 83-year journey. The college has also shown dedication in implementing the National Education Policy of 2020.

While Shri Atul Prasad, IAS. Chairman. Bihar Public Service Commission was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Sister M. Reema A.C.. Provincial Superior, Apostolic Carmel, Northern Province of Patna Women’s College, presided over the function. Other distinguished guests included Prof. K.C. Sinha, Vice Chancellor, Patna University; Dr. Anubha Prasad, General Manager, SIDBI & CEO, Karekeba Ventures, India and Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Superior, Avila Convent. The function began at 03:30 P.M. at the Veronica Auditorium with the arrival of the Chiet Guest. The evening started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the distinguished dignitaries and the Principal, Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C.

It was followed by an opening dance and a welcome song presented by students. Addressing an impressive gathering of guests, top university officials, alumnae, students, their parents and the college staff, the Principal said Patna Women’s College has completed 83 years of committed service and thankful to all who are a part of it. The College has played a significant role in history of Bihar specially women of Bihar. It has always empowered women through higher learning. She congratulated everyone for another year of academic excellence of Patna Women’s College. It is devoted to service of women and to all the people of Bihar.

The Principal’s speech was followed by a video presentation of the Annual Report 2024 which traced the progress of the College. Prof. K.C. Sinha applauded the annual day programme and congratulated Patna VWomen’s College for its achievements and added that it has always maintained to be at the top and the most disciplined College of Bihar.

Shri Atul Prasad said the students are the future of the country and added that the students studying in this College should be fortunate to be a part of this globally recognized College. Addressing the students he said “listen to yourself and no one else, whenit comes taking decision for your career. Be a job provider rather a job seeker.

He also motivated the students by saying “understand your core strength and recognized your talent, your inherit talent”. In his address, the Chief Guest praised the College for its achievements and said Patna Women’s College is pioneer institution to achieve its goals time to time. We are grateful to this institution for always setting an example to other Colleges of Bihar. He further said that a society Could not prosper unless its women were empowered and in this context Patna Women’s College is doing a commendable work.

Talking about Viksit Bharat he said we all have to work towards attaining Viksit Bharat by 2047 to see the develop India. Addressing the students he said, India will become develop India by your actions, thoughts and dedication.

He congratulated Patna Women’s College for implementing NEP 2020 and becoming the pioneer in this field. He said students should be fortunate to be part of this illustrious College.

In his presidential address, the Provincial Superior, Dr. Sister M. Reema A.C. praised the College for its achievement and thanked to everyone present in the Auditorium. She congratulated the students and said the students to be prepared for every challenges which they are going to face in future. She wished them good luck for their future endeavours.

The peformances by students included ‘Lavani Dance’, Blossom Dance’ and ‘Mai Bihar Hun – Nritya Natika’ in which cultural glimpse of Bihar was presented. Special prizes were given to the students selected for NSS, NCC, AICUF, ETF and MVDF.

The function was conducted by Ms. Taniya Banerjee, Mr. Adweetiya Sinha, Ms. Vartika and Saleha Naaz. Prize distribution announcement was done by Dr Sahar Rahman, Dr. Zareen Fatima and Ms. Yosha Singh. Mr. Alok John delivered the vote of thanks.
