Patna, February 11, 2025: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Patna Women’s College successfully concluded its week-long Annual NSS Special Camp on Tuesday, marking the end of an enriching journey of learning, service, and community engagement.
The final day of the camp featured an informative guest lecture on Cancer awareness, delivered by Dr. Arshana Tabassum, Consultant and Director, Zama Memorial Hospital, Patna. The session provided valuable insights into different types of cancer, their causes, and preventive measures. Participants actively engaged in discussions, making the session highly interactive and educational.
Following the workshop, the valedictory session commenced with a welcome speech by Dr. Shahla Rehana, Associate Professor, Department of English, and NSS Officer at Patna Women’s College. She set the tone for the closing ceremony, highlighting the achievements of the week-long initiative.
Dr. Amrita, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, and NSS Program Officer, then presented a detailed report on NSS Special Camp 2025, outlining the various activities, workshops, and community service initiatives undertaken by the volunteers.
Adding to the day’s insightful discussions, Ms. Sarita Kumari, Assistant Director – GIPA, BSACS, Bihar, delivered a guest lecture on the Basics of HIV and AIDS. She explained the causes, transmission, and preventive measures related to HIV/AIDS, raising awareness among the youth about this critical health issue.
The event also featured a certificate distribution ceremony, where participants were recognized for their contributions in various competitions and activities held throughout the camp. This was followed by a feedback session, where students shared their experiences, takeaways, and reflections from the program.
The closing moments of the event saw a spirited rendition of the National Anthem, reinforcing a sense of patriotism and unity among attendees. With the theme “Harmony in Diversity: Celebrating India’s Cultural Mosaic”, the NSS Special Camp at Patna Women’s College successfully promoted teamwork, service, and cultural appreciation.
The week-long camp not only fostered social awareness but also instilled values of community service and leadership among its volunteers, making it a memorable experience for all.
