‘Run for Self’: Ex-IPS Shivdeep Lande’s Mission to Shape Bihar’s Future
Shivdeep Lande Runs with Youth in Munger, Pledges to Transform Bihar
Munger, March 5, 2025 – Former IPS officer Shivdeep Lande, who resigned from his post as Inspector General (IG), has launched an initiative focused on youth empowerment. During his visit to Munger, he participated in the ‘Run for Self’ event, running 10 kilometers alongside hundreds of young participants.
The run commenced from Jubilee Bell Chowk in Jamalpur and covered a distance of approximately 9 kilometers before reaching Munger’s Polo Ground. At the Polo Ground, Lande ran again with the youth and addressed them, sharing his vision for Bihar’s transformation over the next decade.
Explaining his decision to resign from the police force, Lande stated that he is dedicating himself to changing Bihar’s future. He announced plans to expand the ‘Run for Self’ initiative across the state to raise awareness among young people. Encouraging the youth to contribute to nation-building, he emphasized the importance of fitness, stating, “If the youth are fit, their families will be fit. A fit family leads to a healthy society, and a healthy society makes a strong nation.”

Lande referred to Munger as his “karmabhoomi” (land of work), recalling that his IPS career began there. He expressed deep emotional ties to the city and said that was why he chose to launch ‘Run for Self’ from Munger. Accompanied by his family, he is committed to inspiring the youth through this initiative.
When asked about his future plans, Lande stated that he is not making any major political decisions at this time. He emphasized that his current focus is on assessing Bihar’s readiness for change. He categorically denied any plans to contest elections but reiterated his belief in the youth’s crucial role in national development.
“This mission has strengthened my belief that Bihar is on the path to transformation. My goal is to bring about significant change among the youth in the next 10 years,” he asserted. Lande also revealed that ‘Run for Self’ will be extended to other districts, aiming to foster positive change among Bihar’s young population.
At present, his priority is to listen to the aspirations and concerns of the youth before formulating any concrete strategies. The former IPS officer remains determined to empower Bihar’s younger generation and shape a better future for the state through this ambitious initiative.
