Notorious Criminal Saroj Singh and His Gang Busted: Huge Cache of Weapons Including AK-47 and INSAS Rifle Seized

Samastipur, June 6, 2025:

In a major breakthrough, a joint operation by Bihar STF (Special Task Force) and Samastipur Police led to the arrest of notorious criminal Saroj Singh and four of his associates from the Moaddinnagar police station area of Samastipur district. The operation also foiled a major criminal conspiracy in the region.

Arrested Accused:

  • Saroj Singh, son of Tripurari Singh, Sultanpur Purab, Moaddinnagar, Samastipur
  • Parshuram Singh, son of late Anirudh Singh, Sultanpur Purab, Moaddinnagar, Samastipur
  • Munna Yadav, son of late Rampadarth Yadav, Jalalpur, Mohanpur, Samastipur
  • Vishwajeet Singh, son of Parshuram Singh, Sultanpur Purab, Moaddinnagar, Samastipur
  • Nishant Kumar Rai, son of Ramanand Rai, Bhuthri, Bachhwara, Begusarai

Seized Weapons and Items:

  • 1 AK-47 rifle
  • 1 INSAS rifle
  • 1 Carbine
  • 1 .306 rifle
  • 1 Double-barrel shotgun barrel
  • 145 live cartridges
  • 6 magazines
  • 4 spent shells
  • 1 Bullet motorcycle
  • Land documents worth approximately ₹1.10 crore
  • 1 iPhone, 1 other mobile phone
  • 22 forged official seals

Seizures During Raids in Patna:

  1. Sarita Vatika, Flat No. 4B, Jhunjhun Mahal, Gardanibagh, Patna:
    • ₹1.40 crore in cash
    • Currency counting machine
    • Land-related documents
  2. Nayatola, Saguna Mor, Danapur (Rented house of Saroj Singh):
    • Land documents valued at ₹11 lakh
  3. Near Rupaspur Canal (Real Estate Office):
    • 40 land documents worth an estimated ₹2 crore

Who is Saroj Singh?

Saroj Singh was a constable in the 2008 batch of Bihar Police and was posted at the traffic police station in Jehanabad district. He had 9 criminal cases registered against him. Due to his indiscipline and criminal behavior, he was suspended and departmental proceedings were initiated.

Criminal History:

His record includes charges of attempted murder, illegal land grabbing, molestation, fraud, and violations under the Arms Act. In late 2024 alone, three serious cases were registered against him, including provisions under the new criminal code (BNS).

Murder Plot Foiled:

The STF received intelligence that Saroj Singh and his gang were planning to assassinate Prince Mukhiya and Naveen Singh of Sultanpur. Acting swiftly, the police foiled the plot in time and apprehended the accused with illegal weapons.

Ongoing Investigation:

A case has been registered at the Moaddinnagar police station, and further investigations and legal proceedings are underway. Raids are continuing at various locations including Patna.

This operation is being considered a major success in ensuring the security of the state. The police’s prompt action not only exposed a large criminal network but also prevented a planned murder from taking place.
