A courtesy meeting was held today at Sardar Patel Bhavan in Patna between the 2021-22 batch of Bihar cadre Indian Police Service (IPS) trainee officers and the Director General of Police (DGP), Bihar, Shri Alok Raj. The trainee officers sought guidance from the DGP during the interaction. Present at the occasion were Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters), Shri Jitendra Singh Gangwar, and Inspector General of Police (Headquarters), Shri Vinay Kumar.
The IPS trainee officers included Shri Mohibullah Ansari, Shri Kota Kiran Kumar, Shri Shailendra Singh, Shri Atulesh Jha, Shri Abhinav, Ms. Divyanjali Jaiswal, and Shri Shivam Dhakad.
Notably, Shri Shailendra Singh and Shri Atulesh Jha are natives of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Kota Kiran Kumar is from Telangana, Ms. Divyanjali Jaiswal is from Chhattisgarh, Shri Shivam Dhakad hails from Madhya Pradesh, Ms. Bhavare Diksha Arun is from Maharashtra, and Shri Mohibullah Ansari and Shri Abhinav are from Bihar.
After completing the second phase of their training at the National Police Academy (NPA), Hyderabad, the trainee officers joined the Bihar Police Headquarters today. Prior to this, they underwent 30 weeks of district-level practical training, during which they held independent charge of rural police stations for 12 weeks. They will now undergo a six-day training program in association with the Patna High Court, where they will gain insights into judicial procedures, including handling bail applications, appeals, writ petitions, counter affidavits, and other legal processes. Following their training, they will soon assume the role of Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs).
During the meeting, DGP Shri Alok Raj extended his best wishes to the trainee officers and advised them to remain effective, energetic, and maintain integrity in their work. He also shared the “Six S” mantra for better policing—Time, Meaningfulness, Sensitivity, Strength, Integrity, and Speedy Trials. He emphasized that reducing response time in incidents enhances police effectiveness, ensuring that actions are meaningful and visible. The police should be sensitive towards victims, enforce the law to instill fear among criminals, remain honest and dedicated, and ensure speedy trials to bring offenders to justice.
