Chief Minister inaugurates cancer ward at Jayprabha Medanta Hospital

Patna, February 4, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar inaugurated the cancer ward at Jayprabha Medanta Super Specialty Hospital in Patna. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the state-of-the-art cancer machine, ‘Varian Edge Radiation Machine.’

After the inauguration of the cancer ward, the Chief Minister inspected various departments of the ward, including Cath Labs, Endoscopy, Physiotherapy, and took information about the facilities there. The Chief Minister also visited the modern cancer machine and learned about its functioning.

During the inspection, specialists informed the Chief Minister that their goal is to provide comprehensive cancer care under one roof and ensure prompt diagnosis and immediate treatment for cancer. The ‘Varian Edge Radiation Machine’ is the first modern machine of its kind in eastern India and the second in the country, making it highly beneficial for cancer treatment in the region.

The program was attended by Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Naresh Trehan of Jayprabha Medanta Super Specialty Hospital, Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department Shri Pratyay Amrit, Chief Secretary of the Chief Minister Shri Anupam Kumar, Special Secretary of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, District Magistrate of Patna Shri Sheersh Kapil Ashok, Senior Police Superintendent of Patna Shri Rajiv Mishra, and Director of Jayprabha Medanta Super Specialty Hospital, Patna, Dr. Ravishankar Singh, Dr. Rajiv Ranjan, Dr. Amarendra Amar, and other medical professionals.”
