The Bihar Regional Marwari Sammelan’s Patna Branch organized the grand “Padharo Mharo Des” event on Sunday, January 12, 2026, at the New Patna Club, Veer Chand Patel Marg, Patna. The event commenced at 1:00 PM and continued until 10:00 PM, with the formal inauguration held at 5:00 PM. The honorable Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Shri Nand Kishore Yadav, presided over the inauguration. Bihar’s Minister of Urban Development, Shri Nitin Nabin, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
In his inaugural speech, Shri Nand Kishore Yadav praised the Marwari Sammelan for its exceptional public service initiatives. He also lauded the Marwari community for their unparalleled contributions to the development of Bihar, emphasizing their dedication and spirit of service.
Chief Guest Shri Nitin Nabin expressed admiration for the Marwari Sammelan members’ unwavering commitment to their responsibilities. He highlighted the Marwari community’s readiness to serve others, setting an inspiring example for all.
Branch President Shri Shashi Goel shared that the “Padharo Mharo Des” program has been an extraordinary and cherished tradition for 24 consecutive years. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to the organizing committee and all members who contributed to the event’s success.Branch Vice President Shri Randeep Jhunjhunwala revealed that the event’s appeal was enhanced by the presence of Rajasthani folk artists from Barmer. The performances, including the traditional Kalbelia and Ghoomar dances, captivated audiences of all ages, offering wholesome entertainment.
Branch Secretary Shri Sunil More elaborated on the collective efforts behind the program’s success. He acknowledged the contributions of committee members, including Shri Kamal Nopani, Ram Lal Khetan, Nirmal Jhunjhunwala, Rakesh Basal, Anjani Kumar Sureka, Dilip Mittal, Randeep Jhunjhunwala, Amit Agarwal, Shashi Goel, Naveen Tibrewal, Dilip Kedia, Kishan Agarwal, Sanjay Modi, Vikas Berolia, Binod Todi, Rajesh Sharma, Dr. Sanjay Santhalia, Sanjay Sunjhwanwala, Vijay Bothra, Kamlesh Gupta, Subhash Agarwal, Rajesh Agarwal, Anuj Jhunjhunwala, Dinesh Khetan, Shambhu Agarwal, Abhishek Lohia, Ritesh Tulsiyan, Ashish Motani, Pawan Bhagat, Ashish Adarsh, Rajesh Bajaj, and Masudan Tibrewal.
Program Coordinator Shri Amit Kumar Agarwal emphasized that the event aimed to foster harmony and camaraderie among different sections of society. He reiterated the importance of such gatherings in strengthening community bonds.Program Co-Coordinator Shri Rakesh Bansal highlighted the various attractions at the event, which included delicious cuisines, traditional games, cultural performances, camel and elephant rides for children, and mehndi sessions for women. The diverse activities ensured that there was something enjoyable for everyone.
Immediate Past President Shri Anjani Kumar Sureka shared details about the musical housie, which was a major highlight of the event. Artists from Kolkata were specially invited to conduct the musical housie session. Prizes worth approximately INR 3.5 lakh were distributed, including a scooter and gold and silver coins. Shri Sureka also mentioned that arrangements for a bonfire added warmth and charm to the winter evening.
Treasurer Shri Dilip Mittal expressed gratitude to sponsors, including Nabamoryam Steel and Prema Hopta, whose contributions played a pivotal role in the event’s success. He assured that proceeds from the event would be utilized for ongoing public service initiatives undertaken by the Marwari Sammelan.
