Third day of VIGYAN UTSAV @PWC

VIGYAN UTSAV 2024
EVENT 1
On the third day of VIGYAN UTSAV an Extempore competition was conducted by the Department of
Chemistry on 1st March’ 2024. The theme of the competition was “Eco-friendly Self Sustainable Future”
(Hindi/ English). 44 students from different Colleges participated in this event. The participating colleges


were Patna Women’s College, Ganga Devi Mahila College, J.D. Women’s College, Maulana Azad
College and Bihar Engineering College. Judges for the Hindi Extempore were Dr. Sushma Choubey,
Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi and Dr. Rashmi Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of
Education and the Judges for English Extempore were Dr. Devina Krishna, Assistant Professor,
Department of English and Ms. Aishwarya Raj, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography. In the


English category 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd positions were bagged by Patna Women’s College whereas for the Hindi
category Patna Women’s college got the 1 st and 2 nd position and J. D. Women’s College won 3 rd place. The
entire event was coordinated by Dr. Madhu Rani Sinha, Head, Department of Chemistry.
EVENT 2
The Department of Botany and Biotechnology of Patna Women’s College organized a well spirited
Nukkad Natak competition. The theme of the competition was “Youth of India: Igniting Awareness and
Social Change,” which aimed to highlight several significant topics of our society. The event attracted
participation from eight different groups, comprising representatives from different departments of the
college. Each group delivered enthusiastic performances, addressing crucial topics such as the
significance of voting, among others, which resonated with the audience. The distinguished panel of
judges, included Ms. Puja Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce; Ms. Enakshi Dey
Biswas, Coordinator, Performing Arts and Dr. Priyanka, Assistant Professor, Department of History.

Patna Women’s College bagged the 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd position. The event’s success was a result of the
collective efforts of the students and faculty members who dedicated themselves to the execution of the
program. Their hard work and dedication undoubtedly contributed to making this event a memorable
triumph.
EVENT 3
Marking the end of VIGYAN UTSAV an Award Ceremony was held which started with a melodious
welcome song after which the Principal of Patna Women’s College Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A. C. addressed
the dais and welcomed the Guest of Honour Prof. K. C. Sinha, Vice Chancellor, Patna University and Dr,
Shankar Kumar, Registrar, Aryabhatt Knowledge University,

Patna; followed by the address of the
Convener Dr. Shobha Srivastava, Head, Department of Zoology. Soon after which the honorable Prof. K.
C. Sinha addressed the arena and distributed the prizes for different competitions. Announcement of the
prizes was done by Dr. Urvashi Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany. The event was
moderated by Dr. Hena Naz, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany and Mr. Rajeev Ranjan,
Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology. Dr. Pinky Prasad, Head, Department of Botany concluded
the event with Vote of Thanks.
